Thank You

Hello there!

Having returned from a very fun filled dancing lesson I thought I would share a card I made earlier this week which I know has been received....

I wanted to say a special Thank You to someone very special to me.

I took a Snippet of card approx 2" x 8" and inked it with DIs, Victorian Velvet, Spun Sugar, Tattered Rose and Picked Raspberry.  I then did a spritz and flick, dried it with my heat gun before ironing it between two sheets of oven liner.

Yes you did read correctly.  I did say IRON it!  The only ironing, other than when quilt making, that I don't mind! Having chopped it to size, I then stamped it using Memento ink and embossed with sparkly embossing powder, as well as the 2" piece.  I inked the edges of the piece before adhering it to the card.  I took the odd piece and diecut it with my MB butterfly die.

A NBIS by Inkadinkadoo of TY, I adhered the stamped strip, butterfly and some arora borealis sparkly spots and chomped the corners and my card was finished.

The recipient liked it, the colour is a big clue as to who it was for!  I hope you like it too.  I am taking this down to the Snippets Playground for all to see.

Hmmm . . . I might just be able to guess who that card is for! (Is it someone beginning with D?)

Absolutely lush card. Love the inking and the baroque flourish. Very classy.

I nearly spat my coffee out when you mentioned IRONING your card though! That is taking things TOO FAR!

Hugs, Sarn xxx

I got distracted from leaving a comment previously, so if you get an unfinished thought from me, just ignore it!

Is the snippet piece on glossy paper? It kind of looks like it might be, or that might be the result of it getting ironed (four letter word there-iron).

A very nifty and elegant card!

Ha, think some folk already guessed who this divine card was for Sam!

It's even lovelier in real life - the embossing works beautifully. I adore it!

Mwah!

It is gorgeous, and I am going to read the post back through again because right now, for the life of me, I can't figure out why you had to iron it!
However I love the colours you have achieved and that stamp is gorgeous! Must get my Anna Griffin stamps out to try something similar xx

It's beautiful Sam. I iron bits of ribbon all the time, but I'd never be seen dead wielding it at any other time, lol! Yes, you're right, I'm sure we received our MB die cuts from the same lovely person, she's always there when you need her!

Hugs

I love this design layout, Sam! The matching butterfly is inspired!!

I had a reader ask about seeing NBIS on another blog, not sure it was yours. I told them I thought it was a typo, but I see you using it, too. Did you (or someone) make your own acronym for never-before-inked-stamp even though that is the primary use of the NBUS never-before-used-schtuff acronym? Just trying to keep current because it all gets confusing to readers. (Especially us senior ones!) Thanks and hugs, Darnell
